VPR Cast#82: “Just Say Node”

For me, the patch has its ups and downs.

It is great that they have added rare ore in nodes, since alot of people dont have access to a mine. Another great thing is the hp boost, logged in to find my hp gone up by 74 points.

Though the AoE nerf kind of pisses me off. Dont get me wrong, I like the way they made it so that the further you are away from where a nuke hits, the less damage you take, but come on. I shoot a fireball 2 feet away from you and I hit you for 10-14 damage at the most. This is with a rank 99 fireball, 50 fire intensify.

To me thats bullshit, especially since if you got plate on, a direct hit only hits you for 15-21 dmg. Inferno does a little more than that, but not alot. So just think about what the AoE damage is on someone who pulls out full plate or infernal. To shoot off two 90 nukes, two 50 nukes, and see that his hp has not moved, is a bit ridiculous to me.

Now this might also have someone to do with me being a cheap bastard :p that never runs around with enchanted cobra staffs or feather enchants for heavier armor. Usually bone armor, mixed with some scale/plate and a blackbolt would do just fine.

So before I say screw magic and go mage killer, I need to test it out a bit more with some better gear. I guess this gives me a reason to use all the rare ore in my bank.

Being able to shoot 8 rays under 3 seconds is awesome but actually doing it in battle is stupid, very stupid. Completely destroys your mana, I would recommend using 3 or 4 at the most, like Impale, Pungent Mist, Dragonbreath and the one in necro, think its called Unholy Caress,. Though I usually only find use for them when someone turns their back to run.

Its also good to see that they have doubled the loot of alot of mobs, and doubled the skinning loot as well.

@Yak: Darkfall is definately not for everyone. I have tried getting some friends into it but the second I mention that its full loot the convo basicly ends. I guess alot people cant handle their precious pixels being taken. Though I dont think thats the reason you disliked your experience.

I think I know exactly what the reason why you dont like Darkfall. The reason has been concluded through extensive research on your darkfall-oriented comments throughout different casts. This information is unfortunately classified, though I can give you a hint.

@Ryan: Thats good to hear, will definately be looking forward to that. Oh and im gonna have to make a correction on my previous statement about Unholy Caress. I have been leveling my rays a bit and personally I find Unholy Caress a bit crap, so the rays im using right now are: Impale, Pungent Mist, Insect Swarm and Dragonbreath. So far ive only been pleased
