  1. Great cast Bro! My eyes have been open and views on MMOs/gaming has changed. Canโ€™t wait to cast with you in regards to this. one ting though is that at the 61.51 mark, your cast ends and gets cut off in the middle of your sentence, WTF?

  2. @Yak: Great! Look forward to catching up to you. We will have to coordinate a time. Thanks for cluing me in on the early cast termination. I think the actual cast ran for at least an additional 10 min. Will look into this.

  3. @Rayn: Yes, we will need to hook up for another duo cast. However, you need to listen to my latest one about EQ Classic and such first.

  4. Nice cast Ryan, you should transmute your rank 30 daggers and debuff mobs elemental, also buff to 100+ quickness.

@Yak: I love your voice man, but your a douche bag. Please just stick with reporting E-Drama. Best of luck to your journey building a community.

  5. @Quin Tessence I am glad that you find my voice sexy. Just so we are clear I am ass hole and not a douche. :)

  6. Happy New Year to you, Iona, and hopefully you had a Merry Christmas as well! Just saw your post 27 Dec 2010…. we’ve been entertaining, so I’ve been afk.

  7. From what I’ve seen of Rift… it’s not the comeback game. If I were going to assemble the crew of badasses to drain their lives on, it would have been for Darkfall; BUT, the initial server issues DFO suffered would have turned me off… and they did. That’s why I didn’t sign up for months. Honestly, I have never seen so many hardcore, and skilled players in one place, as in DFO. Of course, now those numbers have dwindled,so who knows. But Rift… I have a lot to say about it; and not all bad…

  8. Wow… took me a while to comment. Been busy. I thoroughly enjoyed the cast Ryan – thanks again!

  9. Hi
When can we expect next cast Ryan?

By the way, rend puts a piercing debuff that increases your dagger damage slightly

And piercing debuff of Necro will increase it by large amounts. =)

  10. @ ray ray: Regarding Rend and my daggers, I always have felt that it’s not worth the time, energy, and bone. Instead, depending on what I’m fighting, I use the hp and str debuff from Witchcraft (because I normally pve melee mobs; not to mention I do limit the variety of my play-style for the sake of simplicity). Despite that, I wouldn’t discount Rend, and it’s application for a piercing attacker makes sense. Perhaps I should re-integrate it into my repertoire. I used to use it more frequently…

Next cast is this week. I’m ready; my notes are stale and months overdue. It’s time!

  11. @Ryan If you have to choose any debuffs I would go for the slows in the water school you can get 1 of them at lvl 1 water.. And 1 – 2 debuffs is more then enough ๐Ÿ˜› Ive rarely been in a situation I could hit more then 2 with it being rewarding.

  12. Woot!

Question: What address would I use to download new casts via smartphone? (I tried this one but it says incorrect URL or something… might be the app, I guess.)

  13. @Iona: Going to post the new cast tonight. Usually I keep the links to the cast the same, and just alter the cast number… USUALLY.

This is the link, but since you can’t right click on your phone for a context menu… then I don’t think you can download it; however, listening on the site is an option:

Also, not sure if you know this, but normally all you have to to download the cast is regular left click the “Download it” link. You don’t have to right click and save as.

Will be updating the site in about an hour.

  14. Hmm well that’s kind of shit. I thought my phone would be like a MMOSMACKTALK TiVo. :(

Maybe I can put in the address of future casts.. I really doubt that would work.

  15. @Iona, I’m curious… did you click on the “Download it” link for Cast 88: “Shepherds Pie”? If so, and it didnt work… let me know. Going to go try it on my wife’s phone.

  16. Just tried it with a droid 2.1 (ie no flash options), and it failed to download. The device didn’t like what the Shepherd’s Pie I was dishing up. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

  17. So it turns out that droid 2.1 doesnt support the html 5 audio element, nor can it run flash, nor does it like my auto mp3 download script. It might work with an iphone though.

  18. @chrome: Thanks for the confirmation! I still can’t fucking believe droid 2.1 and under doesnt like it… serious bullshit. The only work around that I found is to use the video tags… but that is fucked up, so I dont think I’ll do it. Since what I did works for iPhone, then I’ll continue adding it. Thanks!

  19. @Chrome: Thanks! That is actually one of the posts I ready while researching the issue :) Droids pre-froyo ( that is, pre version 2.1 – which is a very common distribution ) do not natively support flash, NOR (and this blows hard) do those versions support the HTML 5 audio element ๐Ÿ˜

RE the different browser for droid… it’s my wife’s phone, and to be honest, I dont like dicking around on app stores looking for shit that should already work.

RE iTunes… you’re right. I need to do this. Thanks for the reminder! And thanks for your help troubleshooting this issue!!
