Game Discussion and Analysis:

  • Darkfall Online (DFO): open pvp, full loot, loads of asses to kick.
  • Mortal Online (MO): softcore DFO??? Good graphics, free for all pvp with an L2 style spin.
  • and many more…
  • Stray Bullet Games (No Name Yet): from the makers of Shadowbane, comes a mystery meat mmo. Will this be first person perspective, sandbox, loot, full loot? Nobody knows, YET, not even God.
  • (Aion): from the makers of L2, comes another L2 with upgraded graphics and flying? Not exactly sure what to make of this yet, once we have an idea we will cast on it. I do plan to have an Aion “buff” on future cast (actually have one lined up :D).

  1. “Over 3 minutes of mmo podcast pleasure”

    I hope that’s a typo – otherwise you’re getting lazy Ryan. 😛

    Listening to it now.

  2. I don’t wanna sound annoying, but Secret of Evermore (SNES) wasn’t multiplayer, it’s the game with the boy and his dog, remember? What Yakboy meant was Secret of Mana, this was for two (even three players if you owned the controller link cable of whatever it was called). I just re-bought those two recently and played them. ^^

  3. @Nizzie I talked about both the Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore for SNES. I meant that Secret of Mana was the multi player game sorry if I wasn;t clear. I haven’t had the time yet to listen to the whole cast again.

  4. do any of you play eve and if so whats your names would be awesome to pwn care bears together

  5. @nizzie: Just heard the cast and by mistake I did say Secret of Evermore. However, I think that the second player could control the boys dog if I remember correctly. So I was still technically correct. LOL, it doesn’t matter. It was so great took me and my buddy 50+ hours to beat Secret of Mana and had a blast doing so.

  6. @KJR619: I never did play EVE. I heard many good things about the game. The only thing that didn’t appeal to me was the fact that you are a ship and not a character in the sense that your aviator is not humanoid. I am still flipping a coin between DFO and Aion at the moment.

  7. @Yakboy: The char generator of CO is awesome, but the PvP was mediocre at best. I spent several hours creating characters, but not one in those battlegrounds. I was really disappointed of the gameplay. The world felt boring, the controls sluggish. The only good thing was the character creation, the travel powers.. and well, that’s it.

  8. well yak when ccp finaly is finished with it they will have it so u can have ur avatar walk around stations and they are also realise an eve realted fps that somehow will be part of the game. i can see what u mean about the ship thing but it is more about what suits u i mean the ships are just tools and plus u will end up losing so many that u wont even get attached to them and im looking foward to aion also

  9. @KJR619: Yeah, I need to play a game where my character is some type of humanoid or monster avatar. :)

  10. @KJR619: The FPS of CCP is a major disappointment for me, it’s console (ps3 or 360 – I don’t remember) only. God knows why..

  11. If they keep up adding things like that I might actually go back. I never thought I’d say that one day. Anyway, sounds great.

  12. @Ryan: W00t!!! I am glad to see that they are listening to the players and fixing issues to make the game more fair and fun.

  13. haha. okay, NOW I’m packaging the cast and uploading it. I had to add a 30 min pre-cast continuation warmup 😀 Too much loving DFO stuff to not mention.

  14. Okay, guys, the most beastly cast you’ve ever imagined is uploading. 2 hours and 45 minutes of destruction. Prepare your pipes.
