  1. @asd & @Lee: At first I didnt know what asd meant by having no voice. I thought there was some translation issue happening. Thanks for bringing it up again, Lee, as this brought papa Coolit into the game.

@Coolit: Thanks, bro! Totally forgot about that. 😐 Going to see what I can do to remedy that.

  2. This really was a great cast… oh, the nostalgic memories. Just finished listening to the beginning of the cast that I missed on the live stream, good stuff.

I recommend any listener to tune in to the live stream of the casts in the future. It’s really nice to listen to it live and also be able to participate in the live Q&A session at the end of the cast.

    Follow it up!

Ryan: I’ve had a couple people ask me if you have plans to interview an AV dev. I have an idea on this, will Skype it to you.

  3. Great cast guys.. No way in hell would I do the yes sir thing in a video game, but to each his own. We will be rolling a co-op clan with the usual suspects Ork n Beans or Orc and beans. All races will be welcome. I understand the appeal and structure of a big clan just don’t have the time. If you do speak with the developers make sure you ask if there will be a recycle/salvage skill in the game.

  4. Great Cast!!

Im mazed about the amount of enegy players put into creating content. Thats what this was, content, in a large scale.

Now, many players miss out on the “behind the scenes” and miss out on the depth of the content. So a win-win would be like this:
Darkfall developers, hire a writer. And after each major political change, contact diffrent “key” players and write up a story about it all. Rise, fall, etc. And incorporate this into the storyline of the game. Also host GM events.

What this would give is two fold.
1: Ordinary players get to know what happens, why and feel more a part or want to be a part of it all.
2: The polical game and the leaders will get incentive to do awsome stuff.

GM Events would be for example. A clan unites and holds all the PC cities around the Orclands. After the writer writes this up and makes an epic story, he also hints that if this holds for 30 days, a summoning of X will occur, and lead to Y. Now the server will be in flames about stopping or helping this.

  5. @ray ray: I agree, that would be awesome! Didnt Shadowbane do something like that with their Lore System? Perhaps not the summoning, but I thought they wrote players into an ongoing story, WHICH I know for a fact incentivized some players to make things happen.

  6. Haha yeah, I missed out on the lore in Shadowbane. But i played it for a year :)

The only fault shadowbane had, and it lead to its downfall, was the total destruction of assets. Players spent a lot of energy building a city, and when sieged, it was fully destroyed and the time spent wasted. Anger, frustration led to people leaving..

In DF the city changes hands, and you damage towers etc, but its not fully destroyed.

AV Get a writer, or if you have one, put him to use for player driven lore, in the context of politics and achievements!
    :)

  7. @ray ray: There are two things that ring loud in my memory as problems with sb that I couldnt stand:
    – exe errors — I’d drop during huge battles… totally disenchanting.
    – laggy zones — some zones just had ridiculous lag.

Otherwise, great game for what it was!
